Sr. Manager, IT - Global Supply Chain – Levi Strauss & Co.

 

The purpose of this position is to be a key leader in the global supply chain IT organization.

  • Partner in a cross-functional leadership team
  • Lead the planning and development of Information Technology Application strategies for global, complex, multi-process product development areas
  • Oversee the planning, development, implementation and support of the functional area's IT tactical initiatives
  • Develop and maintain an integrated application portfolio that is reliable, scaleable, responsive to business conditions, and supportive of the functional area's IT tactical initiatives
  • Participate in the delivery of the IT Strategic Plan
  • Ensure the Delivery of  'approved' systems on time and within budget; where necessary fill the role of formal project management for enhancements or projects
  • Communicate and implement governance processes including the facilitation of the process within the product development area
  • Provide account management for global product development area
  • Implement and monitor consistent, flexible, and rapid system development methodology
  • Ensure that Service Level Agreements are in place for all systems in the portfolio and achieve Service Level Agreements
  • Monitor and maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices within product development and PLM (product lifecycle management)
  • Communicate IT strategies and tactical plan to all constituents
  • Responsible for the employment, promotion, performance evaluation, training, motivation, counseling, and discipline of assigned employees

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (13+ years of combined college education and work experience may be substituted for a degree)
  • Minimum 10 years experience supporting business systems
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience

 Additional Qualifications

  • Previous experience managing a team in a global environment.
  • Experience with an apparel or consumer products company strongly preferred
  • Experience implementing a custom PLM application OR implementing a package PLM application such as: PTC, MatrixOne, Lectra, Siemens (UGS) 
  • Advanced knowledge of computing technologies and operations that support business systems and the user community
  • Ability to anticipate technological changes and meet the business requirements needed to implement those changes
  • Skilled problem solver with exceptional project management and organization skills
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills
  • Proven project management skills

Materials Program Manager - Cupertino CA

This position will be responsible for managing materials that have critical impact on the organization. Responsibilities will encompass materials planning (Clear to build), inventory control, E & O analysis and projections, New Product Material readiness, logistics readiness from suppliers to OEMs.

Develop the strategic direction, goals, objectives and key measurement systems to ensure the business goals are met. 
Specifically on but no limited to:
-Manage the CTB process with the OEMs, ensure that the process is working smoothly and that we have clear visibility on materials over a 13 week horizon. Work with the OEMs and the GSMs on all identified material issues until issues get closed/resolved.

Logistics
-Insure the smooth flow of materials necessary to meet production schedules, inventory control requirements, and on-going material line support and shipping. Ensure that we clearly understand the terms by commodity so that we can ensure a smooth flow from a Logistics perspective.

E & O
-Coordinates phase-out of obsolete parts and new product materials.

-Ensure that we identify E & O in advance to ensure we make the correct company decision by building out or mitigating same. Highlight parts with liability and propose a solution to management.

New Product Materials Readiness
-Ensure that kickoff material readiness meetings at DVT with the GSMs to ensure that we understand suppliers, supplier location, part no, sole sourced supplier or component lead-time, SOB, and Terms. Consolidate the data and ensure that the OEMs have this in time for order placement.
-Identify issues at DVT and monitor/drive these to resolution prior to ramp.
-Identify supply chain on components to ensure that we understand any new supply chain associated with this new product.
-Develops and implements and maintains policies, procedures and material control systems. Reviews materials metrics for consistency and provides consolidated information to management.

Allocations
-Plays a key role in the allocation of components that are in short supply.

-Works with planning and GSMs to ensure we allocate parts to maximize revenue. Communicate the allocation plans to the relevant parties.

Management reporting
-Create on a weekly basis all the relevant reports that are required by management to support the business. Ensure that the data is completely accurate and populated on a timely basis
-MS Excel Modeling/Analytical Skills
-Must be “Advanced User” of MS Excel and understand Excel Modeling techniques.

-BS/BA, 3 to 5 years Material experience with production / Planning /MRP
-Intermediate MS Office skills 
-Technical expertise and prior OEM management experience a plus.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to preset to management a must.
-Chinese verbal / writing skills a plus
